Product description

A viscous, polycondensed, fluid-like podiatric silicone, used to create special orthoses and orthoplastic devices for the foot in combination with textile supports such as tubular foam bandages, bandages and gauze. Its fluid consistency allows the fabric to be impregnated. Thanks to its excellent mechanical properties, it produces ultra-thin, flexible yet durable orthoses, suitable for situations where a paste-like silicone would be too thick.

For the manufacture of hallux valgus protectors, glove-style orthoses for the toes, metatarsal pads and other specialised orthoses.

It is also particularly suitable for making self-modelling orthoses for use whilst walking.

It cures at room temperature with the gel catalyst and achieves a final Shore A hardness of 10.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between liquid silicone and silicone paste?
Liquid silicone is used by soaking tubular materials, bandages or gauze, and enables the production of very thin and flexible orthoses. Silicone paste is moulded directly onto the affected area and produces thicker orthoses in a range of hardnesses.
For which orthoses is it recommended?
For hallux valgus supports, finger-sleeve orthoses, metatarsal pads and other specialised orthoses where a reduced thickness is required.
What type of surface should it be used on?
On baking paper or on a plastic sheet.
How long does it take before the orthosis can be fitted?
Approximately 10 minutes after removal. Full curing takes place after 24 hours.
Can it be mixed with A+B two-component silicones?
No. Catalyst-cured polycondensation silicones cannot be mixed with A+B polyaddition silicones.
